Unwrapping the Art of SSAM
In a visionary step toward sustainability, Dr. Jart launched The Art of SSAM, inspired by the Korean and Japanese word for “wrap.” The project became an opportunity to create a connected sustainable wrap supported by a web app.

This project extended Dr. Jart’s eco-conscious vision with a QR-enabled experience that turned each wrapped product into a playful digital story.
By scanning the packaging, users entered a colourful world led by two hero characters, a penguin and a tiger, each linked to a different product line.
The experience celebrated the art of wrapping, revealing the scarves’ designs, cultural roots, and ideas for creative reuse.
It turned packaging into a digital canvas for storytelling and a gentle invitation to consume more responsibly.

The creative process focused on bringing the packaging to life through digital storytelling.
Responsibilities included defining the core narrative concept, storyboarding the journeys of the penguin and tiger product heroes, and overseeing content curation & editing to align with Dr. Jart’s sustainability message and brand aesthetics.
The goal was to create a coherent and visually engaging story that connected users emotionally to the brand’s environmental mission.
Approach

The Art of SSAM experience had a strong positive impact.
It educated users on how to creatively reuse their scarf packaging, reinforcing Dr. Jart’s sustainability message while celebrating the brand’s Korean heritage.
The experience also encouraged product discovery by integrating additional items from the range into the stories, turning storytelling into a subtle yet effective driver for engagement and sales.
